Kabi Sukanta Mahavidyalaya, founded in 1986, is a UGC-recognized government-aided institution affiliated with The University of Burdwan [year of recognition: u/s 2(f) 1991 u/s 12(b) 1991], re-accredited by NAAC, and achieved a grade B in 2015. It is a short distance from Bhadreswar Railway Station. It is on the Howrah-Bandel Main Line of the Eastern Railway and is well connected by road.
Three local municipalities, namely Bhadreswar, Company, and Baidyabati joined together with the goal of developing a centre of higher learning to encourage higher education among the boys and girls of Bhadreswar and adjacent villages, with the enthusiastic support of the local community. The Kabi Sukanta Mahavidyalaya was founded on December 6, 1986, as a result of this initiative. Purbachal Multipurpose Co-operative Colony Society Ltd. provided two bighas of land on which this institution stands alone in its splendour, giving this college's pioneers a boost. Despite the fact that this school has been on an upward trajectory for the past 35 years, it still has a long way to go before it can claim the wonderful heritage of any major college.
